He committed the same sins as his father and was not completely loyal to the Lord his God, as his great-grandfather David had been. But for David’s sake the Lord his God gave Abijah a son to rule after him in Jerusalem and to keep Jerusalem secure.
1 Kings 15:3‭-‬4 GNT

David’s faithfulness was not in vain. David’s obedience to God was not in vain. In fact, God was pleased with it! So God blessed him not just his life but also to the lives of his descendants.

But the thing is, David’s descendants isn’t really the same how David is being faithful to the Lord. The Lord was pleased with David’s descendants but even so, for David’s sake God given them a chance. Blessing and chance after chances, it’s not because they are the royal family but because God is pleased with David.

If you are at the verge of giving up, giving up on believing God, and even giving up on holding God’s word, remember David! There’s a lot of things that hindered David to be able to follow God’s great will. Countless of times David put his life on the line to follow God, and God is faithful with him.

Don’t give up! Why????

1. BECAUSE YOUR SURROUNDINGS ARE WATCHING YOU!
– Just like David, the people followed him even though there are times that he himself is not on condition to be confident, but did he give up? No! He choose to continue and fight because he know that he has an ally that even darkness cannot even prevail!

2. BECAUSE THE NEXT GENERATIONS ARE COUNTING ON YOU!
– David’s descendants experience great blessings even amidst their unfaithfulness to God. Solomon won’t be the wisest King if David gave up. David is just a shepherd, but because of his heart, his generation grew up to be in royal respect.

3. BECAUSE GOD BELIEVES YOU!
– David was fighting because he sees hope! And that’s God! The people laughed at him, even his family doesn’t believe him, but he know that God believes in him. YOU DON’T NEED THE PEOPLE TO BELIEVE YOU, YOU JUST NEED GOD’S APPROVAL. WHEN GOD BELIEVES YOU, THERE WILL BE A GENERATIONAL CHANGE!

CONTINUE, DON’T LISTEN TO WHAT THE PEOPLE TELL YOU. LISTEN TO WHAT GOD HAS PLANTED IN YOU!
